General Lyndon Buckingham shares a message for the International Day of Prayer for Victims of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, Sunday 28 September 2025.
God’s gift to us in the person of Jesus Christ, his son, is a powerful sign to us of his desire that all mankind should be reconciled to him and know freedom, liberty, peace, dignity and hope.
Jesus’ life and ministry, his teaching, his death and resurrection stand as evidence of God’s redeeming and liberating desire for all people.
In the same way that God spoke to Moses in the burning bush of his desire that his people held in slavery should be set free, so in Christ God reveals that all people are of worth and value and should experience freedom in all its forms.Physical, emotional and spiritual.
I ask you to join with me in prayers for those held captive as a result of the evils of human trafficking.
Today we ask for rescue and release, and I ask you to join with me and countless others as we pray for those endeavouring to rescue and work with those who are survivors of traumatic trafficking experiences.
Today, together we pray, set the captives free.
God bless you.
